We would like to thank all our veterans who served our country. We feel we owe them great gratitude. We consider it an honor to be able to assist Veterans and families of Veterans with burial benefits. We complete, and file all applications for such items as Markers, Flags, approval for burial in a VA cemetery, and reimbursement for funeral cost for eligible veterans from the VA. We also help in obtaining other memorial items such as Presidential Memorial Certificates, medallions, and military funeral honors. Our funeral home will assist families with veterans benefits even if we were not involved in the care of the veteran after they passed.

Social Security

We notify Social Security on behalf of the family. The standard benefits currently provided include the social security death benefit ($255.00) payable to a surviving spouse or dependent child. Dependent children would be entitled to survivor benefits. A surviving spouse would be entitled to receive their spouse’s benefit if it was higher than what they were receiving.

Life Insurance

Many Funeral Homes today use a third party to process life insurance claims. This comes with a fee ranging from 3% to 4% of the total cost of the arrangements. Dobson Family Funeral & Cremation Services believes a family should never pay more just because they choose to use life insurance. We process all Life insurance claims in-house and are glad to accept insurance with no additional cost to the family. With proper verification of the policy.
