Kevin Roy

–

Saco, Maine

Saco-Kevin Roy, 49 of Saco passed away of cardiovascular disease on July 28, 2024. Kevin had only been recently diagnosed with the classic symptoms of cardiovascular disease (Stroke, chronic cardiovascular disease, and Type II Diabetes for an unknown period of time). Kevin was working hard at physical therapy, speech therapy and only awaiting a surgery date for his triple bypass surgery, until his sudden passing.

Kevin was born on December 5, 1974 to Gerald and Danielle Roy in Biddeford, Maine. Kevin was raised in Saco, attending Notre Dame and graduating from Thornton Academy, the class of 1993. After graduating from Thornton Academy, Kevin enlisted in the Marine Corps., serving from 1993 to 1998. While serving, he advanced to Corporal status (E-4), a fellow marine reached out and stated that Kevin was *a step below a sergeant*. Kevin was stationed in 29 Palms in California and Okinawa, Japan.

Kevin was honorably discharged from the service, came back to Saco, Maine and worked various trades. Kevin had a love for science, history, woodworking and hanging out at home with his wife and favorite pup, Clarice (also known as Reese Pup).

Kevin was predeceased by his father Gerald Roy in 2001 and his mother, Danielle Roy, in 2011.

On Kevin’s side of the family, he is survived by his sister Jessica Roy of Springvale, and his niece Maddy, also of Springvale. Kevin is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who live in Maine, New York and various places around the United States and Canada.

Kevin was loved by his wife and their favorite puppy, Clarice. They reside in Saco, Maine. Kevin's wife's family relied on Kevin for simple tasks over the years. Kevin was very shy, so people would be surprised to hear that Kevin would jump in an instant to help anyone who reached out and needed it.

Due to Kevin being an honorably discharged Veteran, a military funeral will take place at 1:00PM on Thursday, August 8, 2024. At the Southern Maine Veterans Cemetery in Springvale.
