Katie Lynn Treamer(Howe)
Beloved sister, aunt, niece and friend. Born September 28, 1980, in Berlin NH to Debra Tibbetts (Lavioe) and Leslie Howe. Katie passed away unexpectedly on April 28th, 2024, at Maine Medical Center. Katie had one sister, myself, Jennifer Derby (Howe).
Katie grew up in Gorham NH attending GMHS and graduating in 1999. She went onto study and graduate from the Culinary Arts program at WMCC in Berlin NH. She was a great chef and we lucky family members got to taste all of her delicious creations. She made the best chocolate cake we’ve ever had. She decorated my wedding cake herself. It was beautiful. She was wonderful about sharing her knowledge and recipes, she was a great teacher that way.
Later in lifer she found her calling as a Brain Injury Specialist in the Center Conway area. She loved her work and the coworkers and friends she made in her field. She was a Special Olympics Swim coach for the Mount Washington Valley Dolphins, and she took immense joy in helping her team achieve their goals.
She was an animal rights activist. She helped push legislation for animal protections through the Justice for Bruno act that was signed into legislation by Governor Sununu. She also had an online Facebook forum of which she was an admin for- North Conway/Conway Area:Lost Pets. She loved pets of all types.
Over the years she had fish, snakes, lizards, dogs, and cats. She loved them all. What she loved most were her family and friends. She was a friend and an ally to everyone under the rainbow. To know her was to love her. She was bubbly, vivacious and outgoing. She was the fun and silly aunt. She loved her niece Molly and nephew William very much and spoiled them every chance she got. She would tell them at Christmas, aunties motto is go big or go home. She brightened our lives in so many ways. She loved tattoos. She had many, such as one of her dog, lilacs to honor our late mother, and a tattoo I created that she gifted us with (matching tattoos) for my 40th birthday, a scene with two sisters on a swing with an inscription in French-“A sisters love is forever”. I will treasure it always. She loved the show Downton Abbey. A Christmas story movie was her favorite, she even owned the “Leg Lamp” which she proudly displayed every Christmas.
She loved music and to sing. She was very eclectic. One of her favorites and mine was Chris Stapleton’s Tennessee Whiskey. She made the flowers for my wedding. She was very creative.
She was predeceased by our Mother Debbie.
She leaves behind her sister Jennifer Derby and her brother in law Michael Derby and their two children William and Molly. She has many treasured friends, aunts, uncles and cousins from the Howe and Lavioe family in the Berlin NH area and beyond that will miss her and love her always. We will keep your memory and love in our hearts always. You are loved beyond measure. Be at peace my dear little sister. Until we meet again, rest peacefully.
