Kathryn Larrabee

–

Arundel, Maine

In Loving Memory:
Kathryn Larrabee, lovingly known as Mum, Ma, Nana and Gigi passed away on February 7, 2026 at the age of 82, surrounded by love.

Raised in Rockport, she was a member of the Rockport High School Class of 61 and former Seaside Carnival Queen. She attended class reunions annually until she no longer could. She worked at First National Stores for years until moving to Scarborough where she worked at Hannaford Bros. Corporation as an Accounts Specialist, retiring in 2013. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Stars and former Worthy Matron.
Remembered for her smile, laughter, and just enough mischief to keep life interesting, she reminded us all that joy is contagious, and life is better when you don’t behave perfectly all the time. Kathy’s life was marked by kindness, resilience, and a deep devotion to her family, friends and pets (including those of her family and friends). Her love was constant, her laughter unforgettable, and her presence irreplaceable.
She was the heart of our family, a steady presence, a safe place, and the kind of woman who made everyone feel at home. She was the glue that held generations together. As a mother, she was deeply caring, endlessly loving, and full of life and spirit. She gave endlessly with patience, strength, and unconditional love and was not only our Mum, but our friend. As a Nana, she poured love into her grandchildren, teaching them life lessons with patience, compassion, and honesty. She wasn’t afraid to correct them when needed, always leading with love. The memories she created were filled with laughter, warmth, and togetherness, instilling in all of us the deep importance of family. Her comforting hugs, gentle wisdom, and beautiful smile brought light even to the hardest moments.

Predeceased by her parents Leland and Elsie Hawkins and her sister Mary Stinson, she leaves behind a sister, Joyce Andrews of Camden, her two daughters Teresa Parker (Jeff) of Hillsboro, NH and Deborah Duca (Mark) of Dayton, 6 grandchildren , 7 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Though our hearts are heavy, we are grateful for the time we had with her and the legacy of love she leaves behind. She will always be our Mum…Our Nana….Our GiGi…. Our Friend. And she will remain in our hearts forever.

At the wishes of Kathy, the family will be hosting a Celebration of Life in late Spring or Early Summer. In lieu of flowers we are asking that people make donations in Kathy’s honor to Hospice of Southern Maine (hospiceofsouthernmaine.org) or The Landing at Saco Bay, 392 Main St. Saco, Maine 04072.
