June Fantoli

–

Kennebunk, Maine

June Fantoli, 73, of Kennebunk, Maine, passed away on September 14, 2026, after living with progressive supranuclear palsy (PSP).

Born to Anatole and Simone King, June spent her childhood and early adult years in Stafford Springs, Connecticut, before moving to Kennebunk in the mid-1980s, where she remained until her passing.

June married Richard “Rick” Fantoli in 1975, sharing 51 years of marriage. Together, June and Rick built a beautiful family. She is survived by her loving husband Richard Fantoli, children, Amy Curtis and her husband Tony, Rick Fantoli Jr. and his wife Kate, and Ann-Marie and her fiancé Chris; as well as her beloved “last child,” Sarah, her dog. She is also survived by her grandchildren Ryan, Kyle, Kody, Jazmyn, Adrianna, and Anthony; great-grandchildren Michael and Nolla June; sisters Claudette Colby and her husband Charles, Donna Aksten and her husband Tom, and her many nieces and nephews. Family was always at the heart of June’s life.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Anatole and Simone King.

June loved people, loved to laugh, and had a gift for making everyone feel welcome. June was always checking in on family and friends. If you needed a shoulder, someone to talk to, or just wanted a long chat, she was there. She had a way of making people feel like family, including adopting her children’s friends as her own.
June adored her grandchildren and was an active part of their lives. She played catch, drew sidewalk chalk, had water-balloon fights, swam in the lake, and took them to local events. She was never one to simply watch from the sidelines.

Throughout her life, June worked in many different roles, including in the tobacco fields, dietary nutrition, and running a daycare out of her home. She later worked seasonally at the Chowder House before retiring.

June loved being outdoors. She loved to garden, bake, and pick apples, blueberries, and strawberries with her children and grandchildren, turning them into fresh jams and goodies to share with family, friends, and neighbors. She especially loved spending time at the camp she and Rick bought in Danforth, Maine, which she affectionately called “her lake.” During the early years of retirement, the camp became a favorite place for them. Rick bought June a porch swing for the enclosed porch, where she could sit and enjoy the view of the lake and listen to the loons.

June will be remembered for her warmth, generosity, laughter, love of family, and her ability to make everyone feel welcome and cared for. She leaves behind a lifetime of memories, a whole lot of love, and plenty of stories to tell… yada yada yada. ♥️😊♥️😘✨🤩
