Ervin Ouellette Obituary (1938 - 2024)

February 11, 1938 – January 24, 2024 Ervin Ouellette, husband of late Joyce (Jandreau) Ouellette, of St Francis, ME, passed away peacefully in his sleep on January 24, 2024, in Kennebunk, ME, a few weeks short of his 86th birthday. He was the son of the late Jérémie and Odile (Morin) Ouellette. He is survived by his children; Jerry (Yvaina), Peggy, Robert, Cathy (Michael), Joey (Andrea) and Donnie (Melissa), his grandchildren; Raymond (Diane), Brandon (Deena), Jeremy (Janik), Megan (Sébastien), Hayley, Samuel, Henry, Avery, Ryan, Gabriel, Louis & Luc, his great-grandchildren; Raymond, Daniel, Charles, Xander, Summer, Noah and Joelle, as well as his sibling Monica. Besides his parents and wife, he was predeceased by his good friend and son in-law John and his siblings; Camille, Bertile, Norman, Rudolph, Clara, Dorilla and Joan. Alongside his wife Joyce, Ervin enjoyed preparing large meals for family & friends as well as for his community, including several chicken barbecues. With a passion for storytelling and making people laugh, he was sure to make a friend wherever he went. He was extremely proud of his grandchildren and was very fond of spending time with them. As a young man, Ervin spent time in Germany in the US Army as military police between 1957 & 1960, and this is where he met Elvis. Upon his return, Ervin pursued a career in sales until he & his wife Joyce owned and operated the Brookside Cafe in St Francis ME. In the retirement years of their life together, Ervin & Joyce were the proud cooks of logging and sporting camps, where they not only enjoyed making delicious homemade traditional meals for guests, but also entertaining and forming friendships with so many of them. Our family is grateful to know that Ervin is finally at peace and reunited with Joyce, whom he loved dearly. Burial will take place at 10:00am on May 25, 2024, at the New St Francis cemetery.
