David Snodgrass

–

Arundel, Maine

David Snodgrass of Kittery, Maine passed away on Friday, February 13, 2026, at the age of 74 after an illness.

He was born on April 10th, 1951 to Melvin & Mary Snodgrass. He was the youngest of three brothers. He grew up in Kittery, Maine with a childhood full of mischief and adventure with his older brothers and neighborhood friends as well as summer family vacations on Great East Lake with his many cousins.

David was a hard worker. He spent much of his career in construction, starting with cement work and then expanding his knowledge of carpentry and building, working his way up to management. He traveled all over the United States for work and even spent some time working construction in Russia.

David had a quiet and steady presence, much like his father. He was a loving man with a big and generous heart who treated his friends and family well; always willing to offer help and support for those he cared about. In his spare time, he enjoyed being around groups of people and was a good storyteller, recounting stories of his adventures. He also enjoyed watching old western tv shows and films.

Because he spent so much time traveling for work, David did not stay rooted in any one place very long, but Kittery was always the home he returned back to. And at home he was lucky to have a couple of very special pets who were faithful companions to him. In his earlier years, his dog Dakota wanted to be with him in his truck wherever he went. And later he had a cat he named, Pepsi (after his favorite beverage), who got to enjoy time in retirement with him.

David is predeceased by his parents, Melvin Sr and Mary Snodgrass, and his brothers, Melvin Snodgrass Jr and Dana Snodgrass Sr, all of Kittery, Maine.

David will be missed and fondly remembered by his niece, Shelley, and her husband, Steve Robinson of New Hampshire; his nephew, Dana Snodgrass Jr and his children, Dylan & Cara of Washington state; his sister-in-law, Linda Snodgrass, and longtime friend Laura Donnell, as well as, many other good friends.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff at Bella Point Assisted Living in Bridgton, Maine for the care, and compassion they provided for David during his time there.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in David’s memory to the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation. No formal services are planned at this time.
