Daniel Richard

–

Arundel, Maine

Daniel Richard of Arundel, Maine, passed away unexpectedly at Maine Medical Center in Portland, Maine, following a long illness.

He was born on February 20, 1960, to Pauline and Renald Richard. He attended Biddeford Schools. He worked for Napa for several years after he ventured out as an entrepreneur, owning a small pizza shop in Old Orchard Beach. After leaving there, he purchased and operated Arundel Market in Arundel, Maine, for several years. He also worked at Advance Auto Parts in Biddeford, becoming the store manager. He also worked at Arundel Ford for a short time before retiring.

He loved fishing, bonfires, football (Go Patriots), Red Sox, cookouts, and family gatherings. Dan had a great sense of humor and was always laughing. He looked forward to his Thursday night card games with friends. He enjoyed spending time with his partner in crime, Cecile Pelletier of Lyman, whom he loved dearly.

Dan is predeceased by his parents, Pauline and Renald Richard of Biddeford, and stepfather Kenneth Lomax of Biddeford.

He is survived by his daughter, Deserai Richard of Shapleigh; sister, Janice Dubois of Lyman; his adoptive family, the Pelletiers of Lyman; close friend and caregiver, Rachel Daigle of Arundel; as well as his great friend, Lee Hall of Arundel, who stood by his side through these difficult times; Ryan and Gary Pleau of Arundel for being there for Dan when needed; and Kenneth Pelletier, also of Arundel, who was his babysitter during this difficult time.

Dan will be sadly missed by everyone who was lucky enough to be part of his life. He enjoyed being with others, and they enjoyed being with him. Dan will never be forgotten by those who loved him.

Celebrations of life will be held in the spring of 2026.
