Charlotte Eleanor Eddy Gorman Obituary (1997

Charlotte Eleanor Eddy Gorman died early Jan. 1 at Southern Maine Health Care in Biddeford. She was 26. Charlotte was born on Aug. 30. 1997, a daughter of Karin and Jeffrey Gorman. She was a miracle baby, born four months early weighing less than one pound. She spent her first 138 days in the hospital on oxygen and hospital monitors, fighting for her life, which Charlotte would tell those she knew with pride. Charlotte was remembered for her strength, resilience, and fighting spirit. She faced challenges in life with fierce determination and strove to overcome obstacles with courage and grace. A native of Hull, Mass., Charlotte attended South Shore Charter Public School before moving to Maine. She graduated from Thornton Academy in 2016. Charlotte wanted to become a veterinarian assistant. She had a passion for animals, especially dogs, and recently wanted an elephant. She had a knack for “collecting” dogs, most recently Remy and Paige, who she would lovingly dress in baby bibs to curb excessive drooling. Charlotte is most certainly snuggling with her partner in crime Eeyore, her first dog love. Charlotte had a compassionate heart. She often gave the clothes she was wearing to others she came across who were in need. If she ever passed by someone asking for spare change, she wouldn’t continue on without making sure they got it. Charlotte was a lover of music You could find her in the sitting room, guitar in hand, effortlessly teaching herself whatever song she happened to choose that day. She attended live music and could be found dancing with her mom and sister, arms waving in the air. In addition to being a talented musician, Charlotte was also talented with writing and drawing. Guests in her home would be greeted by the portrait of Marilyn Monroe that her mother proudly hung in the living room. Most recently, Charlotte worked as garde manager at Hurricane Restaurant in Kennebunkport with her sister Taylor. Though it may not have been her favorite having her sister as her boss, they had more fun than either of them expected (or would like to admit). Charlotte is survived by her parents and sister, Taylor Gorman, of Dayton. She leaves her uncles, Burt Hall, of Natick, Mass.; Bruce Hall, of Millbury, Mass.; and Dudley Hall, of Rockland, Mass. She also leaves her grandmother Nancy Gorman, and aunts and uncles Rita Gorman, John Gorman, and Dawn Darnell, all of Massachusetts. A celebration of Charlotte’s life will be held from noon to 4 p.m. Jan. 13, 2024 at Sacred Profane Brewing, 50 Washington St. in Biddeford. In lieu of flowers, we are asking for contributions to Charlotte's memorial fund that will be put towards acts of kindness in the Biddeford homeless community to carry on Charlotte's legacy of paying it forward to those who are down on their luck.
